TRANSFER RUMOURS

Troy Parrott

Striker

According to journalist Sebastien Vidal on X, Coventry and Ipswich are both interested in signing Ireland striker Troy Parrott. Parrott has scored more than 30 goals for the Dutch side AZ Alkmaar this season. He is a preferred signing target for Coventry, and a transfer fee of £15 million-£20 million has been suggested. It is noted that Parrott has been successful abroad but has not demonstrated his ability at the top level in England.

Nathan Aké

Defender

Pep Guardiola has stated that he wants Nathan Ake to stay at Manchester City this summer, but admitted that he is unsure about Ake’s future. The defender has been linked with a move to Coventry City following suggestions from former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam. Ake has one more year left on the deal he signed at Manchester City in 2023. Coventry City would likely have to pay a decent fee for Ake, and it is expected that he would earn close to, or even over £100,000 per week even if he takes a wage cut. According to Capology’s estimations, Ake currently earns £160,000 per week.

Mason Mount

Midfield

Manchester United are open to parting ways with Mason Mount this summer, with TEAMtalk sources indicating that a permanent sale is unlikely owing to the midfielder’s substantial wages, which are set to rise further following the club’s qualification for the Champions League. The 27-year-old joined United from Chelsea in 2023 for an initial £55m but has struggled to establish himself consistently. A loan move, potentially with an obligation or option to buy in the summer of 2027, is now viewed as the most probable outcome. Several clubs have expressed interest, yet none appear willing to absorb Mount’s salary on a permanent basis, making a straight sale exceptionally difficult.

FIXTURES
